Vishegrad Fortress

The Vishegrad Fortress is situated on a high peak and is located about 20 odd meters away from Villa Euphoria. It dates back to 4 century B.C. to 1 century A.D., and the distribution of its structure gives away that a mediaeval feudal castle was rising at this place. The defences used to guard the branches of the road from Adrianopolis to Philipopolis to the insides of the Rhodopes along the Varbitza River valley. The fortress is easily accessible and convenient to visit.
